I went dress shopping recently, it was really demoralising. I dress for my shape usually, but that’s all about my legs, something that is not church wedding friendly.
I have a lot of issues with dress shopping, I have to buy in plus size, but most plus size clothing doesn’t fit me, for 3 important reasons
- I am not ‘fat’ or whatever the preferred euphemism is (There is nothing wrong with that! I am an admirer of the female form in it’s many wonderful varieties, but I am not of that variety), I am moderately overweight (BMI 26?), but I am tall (5’11/181cm) and broad shouldered
- I still have a pretty regular hip/waist ratio
- My bust is ‘modest’ (pathetic, underdeleveloped, like every ‘before’ shot from a cosmetic surgery website ever, I struggle to find bras in my size but small enough)
So I find myself in a situation where anything that goes over my hips/ closes at the back is a 16/18 bridal minimum, the waist isn’t there and the bust gapes sadly open, just to rub it in!
Any other big and tall ladies having similar issues? Any of your solve this issue?! I am looking for inspiration, would love to see some real pics. Looked in the plus threads, but it’s mostly gorgeous properly curvy ladies (with some impressive and highly enviable boobage making then look ALL WOMAN) and that’s not attainable for me unfortunately. Dreading heading back out there, please show me what’s possible
